Family Trees
The first two family trees in our family history - (1) Alfred the Great and (2) the Kings of Scotland - are united by the marriage of Princess Matilda of Scotland to Henry I of England. King Henry I was the son of William the Conqueror .
(3) William the Conqueror - the union of Princess Matilda and King Henry I of England unites the first two trees, and leads to the 4th tree:-
(4) the Neville family tree. Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick, had an illegitimate daughter, Margaret, as well as siring two daughters who became queens of England. Margaret Neville married into an old English family, the Huddlestons. The union of Margaret Neville and Sir Richard Huddleston leads to the 5th tree in our family history: -
(5) the Porter family tree begins with the Lamplugh and Porter families, leading to the marriage of Elizabeth Isabella Porter to John Sherwen of How, in Gosforth.
(6) The Gosforth Sherwens family tree looks at John Sherwen's ancestors.
(7) Isabella Porter and John Sherwen's son, Peter, heads the next family tree, the Arlecdon Sherwens.
I have also included other family trees which have connections to the above, e.g. theNicholsons and Stablers.
