Will of Philip Porter, Bailey Ground, yeoman, 1797
My son John Porter and Isaac Leech stand bound to me by a bond dated 21 Jan 1779 under the sum of one thousand pounds, they are to pay the full sum of £ 343 as follows:
To my son William, £100 to be paid out of the above bond.
To my daughter Bridget Porter, £90 to be paid out of the above bond.
To my daughter Hannah, wife of Daniel Jackson, £50 to be paid out of the above bond.
To my daughter Elizabeth, wife of John Kitchin, £90 to be paid out of the above bond.
All these bequests to take effect twelve months after my decease, but if my wife Esther is still alive they will get half then and the second half twelve months after my wife’s death.
To my son John, 1s. twelve months after my decease.
All the rest of my personal estate to my two daughters Bridget Porter and Elizabeth Kitchen.
